A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Renowned South Florida interior designer, Louis Shuster was invited to share an intimate birthday dinner with Hollywood movie director/producer Ron Krauss. Close friends and family gathered in Miami Beach to enjoy the event at the lush restaurant, Hakkasan.

Hakkasan Miami, opened in 2009 at the Midcentury Modern Fontainebleu Hotel and Resort and is the inaugural American Hakkasan location. The Hollywood indie auteur and the south Florida interior designer shared their award-winning Cantonese cuisine and signature cocktails in celebration of Ron’s 45th birthday.

Krauss, is best known for writing and directing the moving 2013 Indie drama “Gimme Shelter“. The film tells the story of Apple (Vanessa Hudgens), a pregnant teenager who runs away from her abusive, drug addicted mother (Rosario Dawson) in an attempt to reconnect with her father (Brendan Frasier). Eventually, she is assisted by a Catholic Priest (James Earl Jones) who connects her with a shelter for pregnant teens. Based on a true story, Krauss spent over a year living in the Several Sources Shelter founded by Kathy DiFlore. His experiences not only inspired the film but have resulted in a philanthropic organization, Gimme Inspiration to assist teens in similar situations.

Louis and the team at Shuster Design certainly wish Ron a wonderful birthday and hope for many, many more in the future.

High end interior design firm Shuster Design’s home, the wonderful mid-century modern building at the entrance to Wilton Manors, is host to so many wonderful vendors, manufacturer’s representatives and long time friends in the industry.

Recently the design staff at Shuster Design welcomed the sales team from Jerry Pair to our studios for a presentation of the Ironies collection. Seated are Dean and Ilan from Jerry Pair, John Boruk from Ironies with Louis, Rob and Williams from Shuster Design. Ironies are exclusive to Jerry Pair in South Florida and we’re thrilled to include their lovely work in our upcoming high end interior design projects.

We have also welcomed Shawn Greenhill of Minotti, Joey Milgrom from Jeffrey Michaels, the wonderful ladies from Donghia and Holly Hunt just to name a few. THE SHUSTER DESIGN TEAM BRINGS HIGH END INTERIOR DESIGN TO MARYLAND

Shuster Design Associates is proud to announce that we have been retained to design the interior of an extraordinary new condominium in Maryland. The Lauren, located in downtown Bethesda, is a full-service boutique building of 29 luxury units surrounded by fine shops, offices, restaurants and hotels. The Lauren is quite literally the perfect setting for Shuster’s recognized “signature” brand of high end interior design. Louis Shuster and project manager Clayton Weidner traveled to Bethesda early last month and the project is well underway.

The Lauren’s amenities feature a 1,500 square foot wine lounge complete with climate controlled wine storage, a roof top terrace with pergola covered dining areas and living green walls to accentuate the spectacular views, underground reserved parking with optional valet service, a fully stocked fitness center as well as concierge services in the luxuriously designed lobby.

Miami based architect Robert M. Swedroe, known for pioneering condominiums with “direct entry” elevators, designed the project that will feature iconic architecture and a luxurious finish package. The Lauren is making major headlines touting the highest priced condominium to ever sell in the Washington region. Ground has been cleared and construction is in full swing, completion is slated for Spring of 2016!

The newest issue has actor Matthew McConaughey on the cover and features Boca Raton interior designers Shuster Design in an article about internationally inspired interiors.

The article, aptly titled “Worlds Apart” showcases a 13,000 square foot estate home in the posh St. Andrews Country Club that is best described as “a taste of contemporary Brazil in South Florida”. Boca Raton interior designers Louis Shuster and Gage Hartung traveled to São Palo multiple times to delve deeper into the clients’ culture and lifestyle in order to create a bridge between their past in Bazil and their future in America.

Readers of our blog and followers on Facebook should recognize this project from the extensive international coverage the Boca Raton interior designers received by gracing the cover of Florida Design Magazine last fall (Vol. 24#3). With nearly 36,000 photo views and hundreds of “idea book adds” the interest in this project on Houzz is high to say the least.

Describing the project Hartung explains, “It was an amazing experience as it allowed me, as a designer, to be inspired by another culture, see how things are done in another part of the world and create a little bit of Brazil in a home in Boca Raton.” Shuster adds, “I got such an education going to the design center in São Palo, almost everything in this job was purchased there.” Shuster Design Associates are proud to again be recognized as premier Boca Raton interior designers. SHUSTER DESIGN ASSOCIATES HONORED IN 10th ANNIVERSARY ISSUE OF TROPIC MAGAZINE

Shuster Design Associates’ award winning portfolio of work speaks for itself and has propelled the South Florida interior design firm to be featured in the worlds most renowned “shelter magazines”. The most recognizable example of their “signature style” serves as the nerve center for all things Shuster Design and it happens to be their studio. As part of their 10th Anniversary collector’s issue, Tropic Magazine has listed the unmistakable home of the South Florida interior design firm as one of it’s 10 Mid-Century Modern Monuments.

To be recognized among iconic landmarks like the Fountainebleau, the Bacardi Tower and the Mai-Kai is not only an extreme honor, it’s a testament to Louis Shuster’s 25 year dream of making the building a home for the South Florida interior design firm. “It’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”, Louis remarks calmly. “Our business begins and ends here, it’s who we are, it’s our home and it’s as unmistakable as our body of work.”

Built in 1956 for the Robinson’s Beauty School, this masterful example of Mid-Century Modern architecture was designed by Dan Duckham, a local disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright. The building later housed the offices of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. After twelve years of occupation the building was put up for auction, the bidders were primarily interested in the land not the building except for one. Duckam explains, “Louis Shuster, a very successful high end interior designer, had admired the building for many years and had dreamed of owning it for his design studio. He was the successful high bidder, and began an extensive process of restoration. He was extremely sensitive to the original design intent and did a magnificent job. The existing spaces were a perfect fit for his needs and he furnished it beautifully. I would have to say that in the almost 50 year history of the building, it has never looked better.”

Also included in Tropic’s 10th Anniversary issue is “The Tropic Ten”, an article covering ten remarkable new condominiums that are being erected in sunny South Florida. GLOWING REVIEWS POUR IN FOR FOR SHUSTER DESIGN’S WORK AT BOCA RATON’S LA FERME

One look at Shuster Design Associates’ portfolio of work and it’s obvious why they easily rank among the top Boca Raton interior designers, but they have also made an impact designing commercial interiors as well. The popular Boca Raton French restaurant La Ferme is an outstanding example of Shuster’s “signature style” and it is receiving recognition for the interior design as well as the cuisine.

Featuring magnificent vaulted ceilings, gilded light fixtures, luxurious custom upholstery and densely textured carpeting, the result is uniquely modern yet distinctly Parisian. In a recent review of La Ferme Sun Sentinel Restaurant Critic John Tanasychuck states, “Shuster Design Associates of Wilton Manors erased all signs of the former Backstreet Grille and turned the 110-seat space into a flamboyantly new-fashioned French restaurant complete with paneled walls, gilded mirrors and long, white banquettes.”. He goes on to say, “There’s enough visual drama to keep the room interesting, but not so much to make it stuffy.”. “…[it] takes me back to every grand restaurant at which I’ve ever had a meal. There’s not a bad seat in the house or a bad dish on the menu.”

Miami’s Eater mentions the Boca Raton interior designers stating, “…a long white marble bar illuminated by a crystal chandelier is the focal point.  Above oversized vanilla leather booths, white crown moldings add elegance to cream walls, and gilded Rococo mirrors reflect the contrast of contemporary art pieces scattered throughout.”. They go on to say, “If you prefer kitchen activity to bar antics as dinner theater, the main dining room is a better bet.  A domed ceiling, Louis XIV lacquered chairs, fleur de lis carpeting, lace curtains and upholstered banquettes continue the luxe French theme and provide a cushy atmosphere from which to watch the toques at work.”.

SHUSTER DESIGN ASSOCIATES TRANSFORM BOCA RATON INTERIOR DESIGN, WITH THEIR RETURN TO ONE THOUSAND OCEAN.

We’re proud to announce, Shuster Design Associates has just completed installation on another Boca Raton interior design project at One Thousand Ocean, Boca Raton’s most prestigious address, adjacent to the Boca Beach Club and Hotel, and part of The Boca Raton Resort and Club.

Senior Designer, Gage Hartung, has completely transformed a sleek modern condominium into a warm inviting transitional home. He utilized porcelain wood floors coupled with dark wood paneling to create a comfortable “atmosphere” for the space and accentuated it with leather and linen on the custom upholstery. The finishing touch, weathered wood finishes on the furniture pieces, creates a look and feel that are uniquely “Shuster”.

The transformation can only be described as “incredible” as seen in these before (left) and after (right) photos.

Gage explains, “The client is a young couple who currently resides in a modern contemporary condominium and wanted to move away from that look. When they purchased it, their new condominium was decorated stark white with stainless steel details. They expressed their desire for warm tones, dark woods, more drama, more transitional than traditional, and they simply love shades of grey with hints of color.”. He fulfilled their requests by designing the living room in shades of grey, tan, brown and black. The master bedroom incorporates grey and plum to create an inviting, comfortable space while the guest bedroom is a melange of grey, camel and purple. This beachfront villa in the One Thousand Ocean building in Boca Raton is a complete stand out.
